Hi Babes!
As part of my new year resolution, I made it my business to start taking pilates classes this year as part of my desire to explore other methods of working out besides the gym. Although most may underestimate, a good pilates class is nothing to play with! It will have you leaving sore, sweaty, and out of breath, all while saying “Same time next week?” I’ve been on a pilates tour, trying out different studios thanks to my good ole Class Pass subscription. Let’s go down the list of my favorite studios I’ve visited so far.
First up, we have Pilates x3 located in Union, NJ. The moment you walk into this studio you realize you are right where you are supposed to be. Women owned, this studio is filled with instructors who truly motivate you through every breaking point, from start to finish. On top of that, the studio is beautiful decorated, with pictures of women empowerment figures, motivational phrases, plants, and pink walls to top everything off. Cues “Everything Pinka” 😍
Next up, we have Z3 Energy Pilates in Maywood, NJ. What I love the most about this studio is how intimate it is, with a total of five reformers. I can enjoy smaller classes for the purpose of my instructor being more hands on with corrections and form. Any Monday that I’m off you can catch me here fighting for my life in the best way, shout out to my girl Melissa!
Finally, I must mention another honorable fave of mine, Cornerstone Pilates in Jersey City, NJ. This studio is black owned and located in the heart of downtown. Coming here feels special and dear to my heart, as I was born and raised in Jersey City. This studio is decorated in primarily neutrals, specifically cinnamon, peanut, and tawny shades. Again, the instructors here are nothing but amazing and keep you on your toes until the end of the class, you just never know what to expect!
If you check any of these pilates studios out, let me know what you think!
Signed,
A reformer pilates girly
